About 3DBeginnerHub

3DBeginnerHub helps people who want to get into 3D printing choose their first printer and get their first prints right, without unnecessary jargon.

How we work

We do not claim to have tested every printer in a lab. Our comparisons are based on sources you can check, and we name them:

When information is not available (noise level, for example), we say so rather than make it up. Articles that touch on legal topics (copyright, selling printed objects, consumer rights) give general pointers and are not legal advice.

The editorial team

Each article is written and reviewed by a member of the team, depending on the topic. The names below are pen names: we do not publish photos or claim personal hands-on experience we cannot document.

Sam Carter

Guides, materials and maintenance

Explains the basics: how a 3D printer works, which filament or resin to choose, and how to set up and maintain a machine. Writes the beginner’s guide and the glossary.

Jordan Hayes

Comparisons and prices

Keeps the printer finder database up to date: specs, checked prices, new models. Writes the best-of lists, the budget comparisons and the brand pages.

Riley Brooks

Projects, models and miniatures

Focuses on what you print: free 3D model sites, project ideas, miniatures, multicolor printing and online printing services.

How the site is funded

3DBeginnerHub is free and has no display ads. It is funded by affiliate links: if you buy a product after clicking a link marked with an asterisk *, the retailer pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The selection and order of products do not depend on commissions. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
